What it does and doesn't do
- Text people who just called you and didn't reach you
- Say it's an automated assistant for your business
- Stop texting anyone who replies STOP
- Tell callers to call 911 if they mention gas, smoke or sparking
- Flag urgent-sounding jobs to you right away
- Quote prices or book jobs for you
- Answer calls or replace your phone
- Send marketing texts or blasts
- Guarantee more jobs. You still have to call people back.
- Callers with blocked caller ID, or with landlines that can't receive texts, won't get a text.
- The assistant is automated and can misunderstand. The full conversation is always on your leads page.
- Texts go to Canadian numbers only.

Whether it pays for itself depends on your jobs. If it helps you win back one job a month that would otherwise have gone to someone else, it likely covers its cost. We can't promise that it will.
Questions
Do I need a new phone number?
No. Keep your number. You turn on "forward when unanswered" (conditional call forwarding) with your phone company, pointed at the local number we assign. We send the steps by email. If you'd rather, you can use our number as your advertised line: it rings your cell first and only texts when you don't pick up.
Is it OK to text people who called me?
Every text names your business, says it's automated, and offers STOP. We only text people who just called you, and only to reply to that call. We don't send promotions. You're responsible for how you use your leads. If you're unsure about your situation, ask a lawyer.
Where is the data stored and who sees it?
See the privacy policy. Texts are carried by Twilio, payments are handled by Stripe, and the assistant's replies are generated by an AI model provider. Some of these process data outside Canada.
How do I cancel?
Use the billing link on your leads page, or email support@toolbelttext.ca. Once cancelled, texts stop at the end of your paid period.
Who runs this?
Toolbelt Text is a small Alberta-based service run by Keegan Carpentier. It's new, so there are no customer reviews yet, and we won't make any up.
